Hi All,

I just received a DNS-343 NAS storage unit and was wondering what peoples thoughts were. Specifically, I was wondering if I could start with a single 1 TB drive, then add another one or two at a later date? Or will I have to reformat all drives each time I add a new one?

Sorry if this seems trivial, but I am new the NAS stuff.

Cheers,

I can only speak for the 323, but I started with 1 1TB drive and just added a second drive on monday to mirror the first one without a hitch and no formating.

Thanks MadGoat,
Did you have to format the original drive? I ask because I have several 1TB's that I would love to just plug and play with the 343. Having to format upon instal is what is prompting me to put them in one at a time.

The original drive that I had originally formatted in the NAS over a week ago did not have to be reformatted upon inserting the second this this week.

It retained all my information and made a mirror back up of it.
