Ordered a SS with classic buckle, but concerned that it may not withstand sweat and abuse from a heavy workout. I would prefer to stick with a single band... Is the classic versatile enough, or is the sport band the way to for a single band?

I used it for a week. Didn't like how it got soggy with sweat. Overtime it may start to smell as well. I wouldn't use it.

Ive been using it since I got it, it does the job but I wouldn't recommend it. Im just waiting for my sports band to come in now.......the classic buckle is really nice I do not want to ruin it with sweat.

I actually used my SS with Black Classic Buckle at the gym for about a week (I go to the gym daily) till my Black Sport Band finally arrived yesterday, and I found no noticeable wear nor degradation to the leather of the my Classic Buckle band. It actually feels about the same as when I originally received my Apple Watch, just the leather's finally softened up a bit (it could also be because I don't sweat as profusely at some others when I work out. I run and lift weights afterwards).

The leather Apple used is quite durable. I used my Moto 360 with leather strap at the gym once (was waiting for the steel link bracelet) and the Horween leather lost it's soft-touch, suede-like feel immediately after a day.

Although, like the others have pointed out, I wouldn't recommend using any leather band at the gym long-term, a few trips to the gym doesn't appear to affect it in any negative manner. Definitely invest in a sport band if you intend on doing a lot of high intensity workouts.

This is question is the exact reason that I am waiting for my sports band to come today before I use it at the gym :)

I'm a daily gym goer too. I'm staying away from leather for the obvious reasons long term. I wonder how practical it is to switch the band everyday. Overtime, the bands might not fit as tight.

I suspect it would take a really long time for the classic band to have this issue, as the connection is metal on metal. If my sport band wears down, they're not so expensive as to prohibit buying a new one, and by that time there will likely be lots of 3rd party bands to choose from.

I've worked out in mine twice, but I haven't done a hard cardio workout in it - I'm waiting for my sport band to arrive before I wear it for seriously sweaty stuff.

I'm worried more about the actual watch. The locking part might get loose with daily changing.
