iPod touch Anyone using their Touch for MIDI?

Hey,
I'd love to get second-hand Touch for my live visual sets. I have used TouchOSC on my iPhone 4S but I'd rather have one device dedicated for MIDI controlling.

My question is: Can I use TouchOSC with older Touch? Like 2G? I'd like to not spend much money on it.

Maybe there are other alternatives to TouchOSC that will run on older Touch, even jailbroken.
