I've been holding on to my 2009 iMac 27" 2.8 i7 machine as my "work horse" when needing to work on something a little more heavy duty than my 2014 11" MBA can do (and of course with the screen real-estate).
I've really been impressed with my MBA as my everyday machine when working (graphic design work) and haven't really noticed much lag unless I have to work on large Photoshop files. I used to have a 15" MBP before the unibody revamp.
I've lately been tossing the idea or getting rid of my iMac and MBA and get the latest 15" MBP with the 2.5/512 config for more power, and basically consolidate everything to one machine.
Long story short - are we expecting a big upgrade/change to the 15" MBP? Right now, I've seen a deal at Best Buy where I can get the 2.5/512 15" MBP for roughly $2,100 after taxes and it's really tempting me. Lol.
