thinking of upgrading for camera and the button, im a photo fiend.

I went from a 13 Pro to a 16 Pro. I don't regret it, as my company paid for it, but it was a completely linear upgrade. After a few weeks, it feels exactly the same as the 13 Pro.

The camera button is fine, I guess. I disabled all the swipe and adjustment functions and turned it into strictly a camera launching and shutter button.

for me it would be like $650 with trade in but i feel kinda treating myself.
but also upgrading just for camera and dynamic island, apple ai (and tiny bit bigger screen) for $650 got me thinking as well.
P.S. do you have any touch screen issues like some state with iphone 16 pro?

I've not had any touch screen issues. The screen, while technically bigger, doesn't look or feel any bigger. The dynamic island was a bit of a change.

I'm not dogging the 16 Pro, by the way, it's a fantastic iPhone. The USB-C is a great change, and for me, that might have made it worth it.

My 15 Pro has worked out great if my employer was paying for an upgrade i would say wonderbar, but since in have no employer and i bought my last iPhone myself also i have not heard enough about the 16s to push me into one, and also am watching how Apple fixs the know 16 problems we don't know yet if it's a hardware or software problem that has been plagueing the 16s but we do know Apple has pushed the new iPhones out a lot sooner then in the past.

whats been plaguing the 16s? so far i only heard of super low light photos having banding, and then touch issues with the screen because of palm rejection or something

Yes.
The camera button is not worth it in my opinion. It’s nice to finally get away from Lightning cables I guess. I was hoping Apple Intelligence would convince me I made a good choice, but so far I’m not even using it. I will say one of the few times I did use it was to remove something from a photo, and that work incredibly well.
But from a financial standpoint, I could definitely have gotten another year out of my 13 Pro and I wish I had.

Yes over the last few days, and especially watching lots of camera comparison videos between 13 pro and 16 pro, ive decided to keep 13 pro another year

Button is a bit of a semi gimmick at this point. As a professional photographer I do understand why that button came in but the problem is majority of the users are used to tapping the big circle on the screen so getting them to adjust to this 'new button' is a lot of change for them.

I do use it sometimes and I can understand its purpose. Camera wise its a bit subjective. I like it for what it is but I won't comment further haha as I will use my actual camera for most photo work, this is just a point and snap fun kind of thing.

That said; I came from a 11 Pro Max and the battery life is a massive jump forward, can actually get 24-28 hours of mixed use before needing to recharge [normally I always have to recharge end of day] with this one I can wait till morning. [I went straight for the 16 Pro max, didn't even bother looking at the 16/16Plus/16Pro] even though they also got a boost.

I agree, it’s not the button itself to be a problem (even if the implementation could be improved), but the habits of the customers

I went from 13 Pro to 16 Pro and returned the 16 Pro on released.. then about a month later I went and got the 16 Pro again and this time I love it lol. I made videos about it and all

my 13Pro was stolen, I was not going to upgrade otherwise. I would have waited for the 17.
As a new phone the 16pro it's a little more responsive ( I don't have any touch screen issues) . It's nice to have the 5x zoom, I was never happy with the photos on the 13pro, the 16pro is not spectacular but maybe a little better than the 13.
As for the camera button, total gimmick, I don't use it, it's not intuitive , much better to use the usual button
I do like my desert titanium colour, I never liked the Sierra blue I had

I upgraded from an iphone 14 Pro Max to a 16 Pro Max. No regrets. Great cameras. 👍🏼

Sorry to hear that.....!
do you use a screen protector with it? (some people say thats what causes issues with 16 pro)
