Personally there is no way I would cover that beautiful display with any skin available on the market. A skin for the back? yes. A skin for the front? hell no

Now maybe a clear regular screen protector maybe, but no way a rubbery skin.

just go to an Apple Store and key up one of the displays if you really need this real world feedback

at my Apple store... I've seen them take a rock to the ipad, I'm sure they'd do it for you

(and the iPad was safe after)

sure. i did it plenty of times to show off the screen on my 3G.

The guy that sold the phone to my brother when he got his 3G even pulled out his own iPhone and said, "here take out your keys and scratch it" and then my brother went on to attempt to scratch the screen with his keys.

If the 3G's and the 3GS's are unaffected, im sure the iPhone 4 will be even better.

I don't care about how it handles against keys. I care how it handles against dirt/sand/anything else small like that seeing as i always carry my phone in a an empty pocket where those 3 type of things are the only possible culprits when it comes to scratches.

I wanna know if it's worth buying that helicopter grade film that covers the front and back.
Pogue just tweeted this (below). I've never had a problem with my keys scratching my iPhone screen, but dropping it to pavement has always chipped the case.

Oh CRUD!!! Set the iPhone 4 on a truck hood in a parking lot--it slipped off and fell 5 feet to pavement! Not a scratch. Whew!!

Dude, you walk around with dirt and sand in your pockets? Are you trying to break out of Shawshank? Someone already tried that method so I think they're wise to it...

Oh wow.. I have not laughed that hard in awhile. Thanks for that:)

I bought a screen for my 3G and I hated it. You don't have that smooth feeling when you glide your finger over the screen with a screen protector as you do w/o one. Since taking it off, I have never found the need for one and have yet to receive any scratches.

I'd actually bump this up to, "unless you keep a bunch of loose diamonds in your pocket, your prolly alright"

I never understood, the scratch-proof thing. I've had a 3G for 2 years and not a scratch on the screen...

I've owned all 3 iPhones thus far and the only scratches I ever had were on the Apple logo and the bezel. With the Apple logo under glass and stainless steel bezel this year, this should make it completely scratch proof.
