Curious to know what a server model run at when packed with 8gb of RAM, anybody out there given it a run through Geekbench yet?

Haha. How is Handbrake doing anyways with that "crippled" integrated graphics everyone is lamenting? Are you planning on quitting apps and going for a better score??:)

Uh handbreak should be pure CPU the graphics card shouldn't even be a factor.

Actually, Handbrake is doing very well for the tiny little powerhouse. As mentioned in the OP, Handbrake is mostly CPU intensive, so the gimped GPU isn't slowing it down too much, but I did compare the mini server to my 2011 2.0 i7 MPB in the Big Buck Bunny benchmark and the mini did it in 6:50 while the MBP ran it in 6:20. Someone mentioned that the CPUs might be just a shade different, but that the GPU on the MBP might have helped a little (though its unclear if Handbrake supports GPU encoding).

In any case, I ran Geektest again without handbrake and got ~8900 in 32-bit mode. The Mini Server is powerful, but I think I might swap it out for a base 2011 iMac as other benchmarks indicate that the iMac will encode at about the same rate as my 2011 MBP and provide a GPU for some light gaming.

mac mini server i7-2635QM, 8gb ram, 1tb raid-0 hdd (2x500gb):

geekbench 64-bit: 9660
geekbench 32-bit: 8910

cinebench v11.5 tests:
OpenGL: 11.8 fps
CPU: 4.28 pts

DiskSpeedTest: approx. 184 MB/s avg.

Mac Mini Server (before upgrading) 32bit geek bench : 8788

After upgrading it to 8gb ram on 32bit mode : 8944
