Anyone with 2009 or 2010 MBP with 30" Apple Cinema Display?

Hi everyone,

I have a 15" Macbook Pro i7 and about to purchase the 30" Apple Cinema Display.

I know that you're supposed to use the Dual Link DVI adapter (costs AU$149) but have some questions regarding it:

1. Any chance it can work with just the regular miniDisplayPort - DVI adapter?
2. Any problems with the latest generation (or the 2009 Macbook Pros) and Dual Link DVI cable?

I've heard lots of problems with it and so I want to get an idea of who has this setup, and what your thoughts are (eg. any issues)

So just throwing this out there for anyone with a Unibody Macbook Pro that uses the miniDisplay Port.

Not a chance.

System Requirements

Mac with Dual-Link DVI port
Mac with Mini DisplayPort using Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter (sold separately)

None that I've heard of.

Just a follow up, I can confirm that it does work with the miniDP to DVI. Just that the resolution is maxed out at 1280 x 800. Will be getting the dual link DVI adapter tonight.
