Love it. It works very well. Typing on it is very good. Love the screen angles too. Still developing muscle memory on the trackpad, but pleasantly surprised how well it works.

I am about to replace my iMac and go back iPad only. I had the 2018 11" pro, but sold it because it was really overkill when I had to get my iMac for work and for making photo books. I no longer need it for work, and I've found a way to do customized photo books with an app - FINALLY!!!

I am really struggling because, though I LOVE the size of the 11" pro for versatility, and think I would actually use it more sitting if I didn't have a case on it (I like that I could just put a skin and easily pull it off the MK to use as a tablet), I'm wondering if I shouldn't go with a 12.9 for more screen when I'm using it on the stand.

I think the larger 12.9” would be better if you‘re at a desk or using it on your lap, especially when dealing with photos etc.

I got the MK for the 11” two days ago and I absolutely love it. The scrolling/ trackpad navigation/ gestures are far better than what I have experienced with any of the third party keyboards I have tried with iOS 13.4.1 trackpad support. The typing experience rivals the MacBooks I have owned in the past (although years ago).

It is overpriced, but can be worth it depending on how much you get out of your iPad.

Typing is nearly perfect ... you just need to adjust to the smaller sized control/function keys.
Backlit keys are hugely useful at night.
Trackpad is incredibly responsive. Clicks feel great. Gestures are nice. A bit too narrow in the height dimension.
Design is somewhat top heavy, but it's manageable. Some lap positions and angles don't work.
The weight substantially changes the feel of the iPad when you carry it around. It feels very dense and solid and overall less agile. It more than doubles the weight of the iPad.

I'm hoping the keyboard won't feel more cramped than the smart folio for the 11". I did perfectly fine with that size, and will likely wind up going back to that if I don't love the MK. I'm really hoping it works for me though. I like that when you fold it up to take it somewhere it's a complete "case," love that it charges through the keyboard leaving the USB-C port open if you need to be importing photos or something from a memory stick (or use some other gadget), and love that it lifts and allows the iPad to be tilted. I, personally would have preferred the type of keyboard/keys from the folio with some of these other features. I just really love typing on those.

I should know fairly soon. I think mine will arrive late next week.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the 11” magic keyboard 😊

Yeah I'm really curious how I'll feel about it. I had the Smart Keyboard folio in that size and loved it, so we shall see. I'm more worried about how I like it overall than the size. I'm small with small hands and the more compact keyboards have been fine. I'm gonna have to really love it to keep it - $300 is a bit steep for a keyboard.

The Magic Keyboard feels much better than the Smart Keyboard Folio ... not just because of the better scissor switches, but also the full size keys. The SKF has relatively small keys and larger gaps between the keys (probably due to the fabric cover) which made it harder to hit each key accurately. I didn't have real complaints about the SKF, but the MK is better.

my experience was the same - the fit and feel between the two can't be compared, but it makes sense since the SKF is significantly cheaper and more practical (folding it back)

I LOVE this keyboard. It’s the easiest keyboard I’ve ever used for any iPad. Throughly impressed and glad I got it. It’s pricey...but we all knew that going with Apple devices.

Just got this keyboard yesterday for my 2018 11" iPad Pro. Typing on it feels like a MacBook and the trackpad is extremely responsive. I was using the Magic Keyboard 2 and Trackpad 2 from my iMac to see how I might, or would use the keyboard, and that experience convinced me to get the keyboard. I do not regret it and will probably use it more than the MacBook Pro when out and about. My MacBook Pro (2016) will probably become my main computer as the iMac is getting a little old and is noticeably slower than the MacBook. The iMac is from 2014.

I have both the Smart Keyboard and the Magic Keyboard for the 11”. I definitely prefer the Magic keyboard over the Smart Keyboard! It’s nice being able to have the trackpad on it, I just wish it could fold back like the Smart Keyboard.

I have both the smart keyboard folio and the magic keyboard. After a couple weeks I decided to return the magic keyboard but it really kills the portability of the 11” device. The beauty of smart keyboard is that you flip it back and it turns into a tablet (horizontal or vertical) and I found out that with the magic keyboard I was using it solely as a laptop most of the time and in my opinion the 11” ipad doesn’t make for the best laptop experience compared to bigger devices.

Well I’m thinking I’ll be able to easily pull it off the MK and use it as a tablet with just a skin on the back. I never liked flipping the keyboard folio back and using it that way when I had my other one.

I think the benefits of the better keyboard and the trackpad out weigh any inconvenience of pulling the iPad off the MK. Since it magnetically slips back in place it's just too easy. If there was a lot of pairing and stuff then that might be a different story.

That‘s what I’m thinking. It seems like it’ll be pretty easy to do. My skins are on the way. I’m so excited!

I use the IPP 11” with the MK and find that it works well in tablet form, the keyboard acting like the front cover of a hardback book. The magnetic attachment is strong yet I can remove the IPP easily for a more free form tablet usage.

I love the Magic Keyboard. I never took to the Smart Keyboard Folio because the rubbery feel of the keys and the very shallow travel were a turn off. The MK is closest to the keyboard feel on the Macbook Pro.

Everything people describe that they didn’t like about the Smart Keyboard is what I did like. I LOVE how the keys are on the ASK and Smart Keyboard folio. I can type so fast! I hope I like my MK as much as everyone else.
