Try this, it worked for me!

Before my iMac would connect on Safari immediately, then slow down, then crawl, then stop entirely and just spin the beach ball. This fixed it! (knock on wood)

I believe the latest iMac wifi update fixes a lot of problems with wifi.

Not sure what evil conspiracy you suspect is afoot by the anonymous public here on the Mac Rumors forums, but I have 4 machines in the house, all running the latest version of Lion. No wifi issues with any of them--And I ain't LION! (Hahahaha! See what I did there!)
