Sounds silly but when i shine the apple logo on the back under light of the iphone 13 pro it got nicks on it.

Just curious if their all like this or if its just me out of the box. I bought this thing full price for over 1300 dollars.

Tried phone cleaner and microfiber cloth and using 3m scotch tape to pull it off but it looks pernament :/

Crisp and clear Sierra blue here. But I’m sure it will get at least a couple micro scratches at some point, as they always do (no case for me).

I have an iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro here and they both have spots on the logo.

I'd try some wet sanding, different weights until it buffs out clean.

Yea I just got a new 13pm and am yet to take it out the box as waiting to get a case however under direct light I too notice a few specs along with some very faint scratches, I’ve got to imagine it was like this from the factory but in reality it is probably very difficult to get any phone perfect material wise and chances are most phones will have some sort of imperfection even when brand new, Because of this I don’t really consider it to be an issue and will still use a case to prevent any real damage which is more visible

Definitely interesting.. Was that out of the box? That pic looked to me like paint overspray or directional scratches.. I've never had an imperfect iPhone out of the box(3GS 32gb-5 64gb-6S+ 128gb) Mine is 13ProMax 1TB Graphite Grey. I'm wondering if cuz of covid and heavy demand that the factories are letting imperfections like that slip out?.. I wouldn't worry about it.. If you don't have it in a case you'll get stuff like that eventually anyway. Mine went directly in a leather apple case when it came out of box. I just removed it from case to see if mine had anything like that. Clean. Maybe it was a color line related issue.. If it works fine I'd let it go. If it was on the screen I would have gotten a replacement. That would drive me nuts..

My 13 Pro Max doesn't have them (yet), but my 12 Pro Max had them.

Well unfortunately iphones are produced an a mass production level. So there will always be something that may have gone past the QC unnoticed.

I am curious about something. If you run your fingernail across the area with the spots does it feel completely smooth or does your nail catch on the spots like it is scratches?

I have this on the Apple logo on my MacBook Air. It’s second hand and has a few blemishes made by the first owner. I always notice these spots on the logo too. Don’t know what causes them. My iPhone and iPad seem to be fine.

Those are very odd looking marks. Out of curiosity, to rule out it being some sort of adhesive residue or grease, have you tried wiping the logo down with 70% IPA? (a screen cleaner would not necessarily remove this, especially adhesive residue)

My iPhone 12 Pro did, my 13 pro max kinda does.. nothing is perfect. You will get scratches eventually I promise you. These don’t seem to rise up to a “defect” standard.

And a 50,000 dollar car will have a few scratches whether it’s noticeable or not.

I was stuck between almost bringing my 12 pro back and exchanging it when I got it last year because of them. But what if then you receive a phone with a defect Like a gap on the screen borders, something that is not inevitable like a scratch
