Northern VA
Not more than 3-4 hours away from DC.

My parents and I (And my brother), are looking on doing something "outdoors" next weekend (Yes, 5 days). Except, we have no idea what to do.

I suggested Ocean City (3:30 away from home). White water rafting in PA was also an option (4:30 away from home).

I suggested VA Beach, but if we were going to a beach, Ocean City was more of an option.

Anything else?

I am a west coast cat. I'll be Baltimore for a night here soon. Seems like there is a ton of things to do on the east coast. I have stayed in Baltimore a few times....too much to see.

Run around in blue dressed like a gangster in the bad parts of town.

Yeah. Don't want to get killed by the Bloods.
Luray Caverns and Natural Brigde

Been there too many times. Plus, it's a vacation where we'll be staying overnight, and actually doing outdoor activities.
White water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, mountain trails, boating, etc.

BBQ and beer.

Q: Anything to do around East Coast?

A: Fly to the west coast. LA, Seattle, Vancouver. Or drive it slow and have one heckuva road trip.

White water rafting in PA was also an option (4:30 away from home).

Philly is only like 2.5 hours from DC, and whitewater rafting is about an hour north of the city. Look up Point Pleasant rafting.

In the Philly area, there's also sightseeing of independance hall/liberty bell/constitution center type stuff, Penn's Landing (some festival going on there pretty much every weekend), South Street, Aquarium, Zoo (oldest in the country) and plenty of other things in the city.

If you go outside the city, there's New Hope/Peddler's village, Renaissance faire, Longwood Gardens, Valley Forge & Washington's crossing parks, and more.

Because what I, or anyone else, says around here in response to his question matters. I doubt he would do it, I certainly don't think he is that stupid.

I is so sorries. I forgot to put seventy-four different smilies in my post to show the sarcasm and how I was kidding.
