Anything to strip metadata from iTunes files?

I'm really picky about my iTunes collection and I hate that I can't remove stuff from certain metadata containers ("Description" and "Release Date" come to mind). I know Media Rage does this, but I don't want to pay $30 just for my peace of mind– is there a free app that does this?
