I live in Ann Arbor, MI area and cell phone has been struggling to work on my new XS plus.

I reached out to AT&T Cares and they just said thanks for reporting.

Many "down detector" sites show issues in the area but unsure if I can trust those.

Any troubleshooting ideas to confirm it is not the phone (I did all the resets etc...)

This site explains how to enable field test mode. It has very little useful information beyond telling you your signal strength. I can’t think of anything else beyond this to help. It works on my XS Max.

I just tried this and received a score/rating of -115, which is considered poor. I wonder if this is due to a modem issue, a tower issue, or congestion from a high number of new activations.

*Edit* I have also seen poor network performance since activating my new XS Max
