I have a late 2006 MacBook with 2 GHz C2D, with 3 GB RAM and 320 GB HD. After it goes to sleep it will try to spin up the SuperDrive to read the disc, then stop and do it 15 sec later. It will do this all night until I wake the computer back up again in the morning, and even then it will still do it until I go into disk utility to and mount the CD. I also have to go into disk utility to mount my external hard drive. External HDs and flash drives don't mount anymore.

Is it possible to disable the MacBook SuperDrive?

or Does anyone know of a way to fix the problem?

Because the noise is louder when a disk isn't in there. It's been doing this for a while, and of course the AppleCare has expired.
