If the media it's playing is 4:3, there will be black vertical bars. If it really makes you angry, start watching shows produced in 16:9

Yeah, it's the content, not the app itself.

it is the content. i watch Arrested Dev like everyday with hulu.app and its great. only stuff like Amarican Dad is not widescreen.

Didn't know there was a hulu app. cool. but yes I've seen 16:9 content. Just depends on what you are watching.

the app is pretty cool. and for me the vid playback is alot smoother.
