Hi so I purchased a license for MS Office 2016 and removed 2011.

Now, I notice that it takes quite a bit of time to launch Word 2016 app on high sierra.

Anyone with tips to speedup launch of this app? :-(

Use FontBook to disable 95% of the fonts from Office 2016 you never use. It'll speed up launching by a few 100%.

Fontbook is another app to buy or with macs? How do i disable fonts for word using fontbook? Thanks!

Ok I made a new collection of fonts.. but how to tell the mac to use this collection only for all apps?

Launching Word takes 2-3 seconds on my trusted old Mini from late 2012 but with SSD, so if you don't have SSD yet, this might be the best way to speed everything up...

Office 2016 installs fonts in each application folder not in the usual Fonts > Microsoft folder. Each app has its own fonts for sandboxing reasons. Office 2016 fonts are invisible to Font Book and font management software. Control-Click (Right-click) on Office 2016 app in Applications. You’ll find fonts in this location.

Oh, so they changed the behavior—thanks for the heads up. BTW, you missed one step. Right-click and select Show package contents first.
It's a PITA that FontBook no longer makes this font management easy.
