I have an LG Ally Android phone and currently tether from the phone to my MBP using PDAnet app, however this is all done through USB and the PDAnet app on the android phone and MBP.

I'm just wondering if there'd be anyway to then enter Network on my Mac and tether it to my nearby iPad?

Sounds far-fetched and i'm sure an easier solution would be to root the android phone to then easily tether from the phone via Wifi and connect it like that to the iPad...However I'm not too big on the Android side of things. I'm more knowledgeable on the iOS front.

But the question remains...

...Any way?

:)

If you rooted your phone... you can.

I understand, however my LG Ally phone is a work phone provided by my business and must return it in February of 2011 to either upgrade the phone or terminate it. I'd love to root the phone, but aside from not knowing how to do it....I also heard that the LG Ally is getting Android 2.2 which will allow it to become a Wifi hotspot; however no date has been set.
