Anyword on the release time of the software update?

Everyone is talking about the exact time the 3G phone will be available. I would like to know when (time not date) the 2.0 software will be available? 12:01 in new zealand? 8:00 am in the states?
Anyone hear anything?

This seems likely (tomorrow AM). Apple says that iPhone 2.0 will be available when MobileMe is launched, and they've stated MobileMe will be launched by 12 AM Pacific Time. The logical conclusion is that 2.0 will be released by that time or very shortly after.
 
thanks for the updates. I hope we get to have it before the 3g phone arrives

Hopefully some time tomorrow, just so we don't have the activations of the 3G phones going on at the same time the 2G phones are updating to 2.0.
 
yeah its more than likley tonight i think tuaw.com is saying itunes 7.7 is expected any time and with that that usally hints that the app store will be part of itunes and the fw update
 
I'd love to jump on the bandwagon, but I have learned that my pessimistic side is more accurate when dealing with Apple. Firmware 2.0 will be released Friday afternoon sometime. I know some of you think it will be out when MobileMe is released, but Apple will just say users who already have 2.0 can take advantage of its features.
 
Guys! Calm down! It isn't coming till Friday. How many times must we get worked up over Apple putting something out early only to find out it's actually coming LATER. It's not coming tonight. I'd be willing to bet just about anything on tha.t.
 
Well the thing is, I would bet that the App Store will open just as soon as the first iPhone 3G's are being sold. Where in the world will the first 3G's be sold and what date/time is that US time? I thought I was hearing that some of the stores will be selling them tomorrow. And for the App Store to be used we need 2.0. So who knows when we'll see what.

I believe 8am est tommorow morning will be 12am friday in New Zealand, so I am in the camp that we might see something tonight or tommorow morning.

3 stores in New Zealand will be selling them on Friday morning at 00:01. This is 13:00 GMT.
