Hello guys. I want to buy a bag for my iPad and i like the AO Ally Capellino but i've found there are two version of the iPad Satchel.
The first version is only for Apple stores.
The second version you can buy it from the Ally Capellino website.
The only difference is the color.
Which one do you like more?

That's a nice looking bag. I brought the Mulberry Rockley Messenger Bag. Looks beautiful in Gunmetal Smooth Leather. (It's just a tad bit more expensive...) I'd definitely recommend it.

Rockley Messenger

It's a great size for the iPad and has enough room for other documents, headphones etc. I've even transported my 13" MacBook Air in it.

Combine it with the Navy Leather SmartCover and it looks wonderful.

If you read the whole post you'll know what's the difference...

Ah, I missed that line! :p

I'm still not convinced the color is different though -- looks like it's just the difference in the lighting when the photo was taken. Are you sure it's a different color? Does the listings indicate different color names?

Yes i'm sure it's different :)

Well, in that case, I don't know what to tell you. The color difference is so subtle, it's hard to tell what the actual product would look like just from the pictures. Just close your eyes and pick one, I'm sure you'll be happy with either.

OP...I suggest that you reconsider that bag....look closely, rain can fall in at both sides where the bag gapes...just saying!

Somebody has this bag? I would like to know how the quality is

I have this bag! Same colour too! ;) Looking at the pics I think it is indeed the same colour as mine looks slightly different depending on lighting etc....

I got it about 16 months ago as I wanted to have a bag that could carry both my iPad and an A4 study book and folder. To be honest, there wasn't much about at the time and as this looked perfect I didn't mind splashing out a little. The quality and craftsmanship is beautiful, the lining inside is green with the iPad compartment slightly padded and has a little give so you can even keep the iPad in a thin case. There's a zipped section inside perfect for cables/charger etc and another small pocket ideal for your phone. One the outside there's another zipped compartment which I keep my wallet and keys in.

I have used this bag on my daily commute into work and it's held up pretty well to be honest. My commute is into London so lots of overground/underground dirty train journeys... The only wear that is noticeable is where the strap meets the bag itself - I wear the bag across my chest, so my trousers rub the bag in that spot and the canvas is slightly worn as a result. Apart from that I've been VERY happy with it and would recommend it to anyone! Hope that helps!

If you have any questions please ask!

Rain is not a problem, I've never had rain go inside my bag. However, if you do so happen get stuck in a monsoon the iPad will still be fine as it's wrapped fully in padding in the centre of the back panel of the bag and as the padding goes around the sides too, this acts as an additional barrier against the elements! :)

The dimensions given for the satchel in the Ally Capellino site and the Apple Store are different, so they may be different models after all. The one in the Apple Store is larger—32x27x11 vs 30x23x9. Makes sense since the Apple model seems to be exclusive for the Apple Store. Also, the pictures at the Ally Capellino site do not show the internal pockets so it's not clear whether they are organized in a similar manner as in the Apple model.

Which one did you buy finally?

As for the color, since these satchels are supposed to be, at least partially, hand-made, they all differ in some aspects from one another. This apparently includes the color.

I have to beg to differ. Whilst I've not used this bag I have seen it in person at the Apple store and its well overpriced for what it is. It doesn't have a lot of compartments and it feels cheap and not that well made. You're just paying for the name. There are better brands out there. For example Tom Bihn - http://www.tombihn.com/messenger_bags/TB0222.html and SF Bags - http://www.sfbags.com/products/muzetto/muzetto.php. I have the Ristretto by Tom Bihn and its a top quality well made bag. Both these companies and these bags in particular are highly rated if you search around the Internet.
