Read the reviews?

Not many reviews on Newegg, which is a bad sign.

I mean, the first two reviews are equivalent to anything you'd get here... but ok.

I guess I'm just kind of worried about buying from an unknown brand. I just started work on a big project that requires lots of graphic design work and I want to be sure this monitor won't crap out on me or something.

They may not have huge consumer presence in the US, but AOC is one of two brands used by TPV Technology who are the largest monitor manufacturer globally. Take that for what you will in regard to the monitor crapping out. This display gets pretty favourable reviews all over. Step up to one of the Dell displays if you are overly concerned. There is 10% off at newegg right now http://bit.ly/MslDU6

I have had AOC monitors in my office for several years (5+). None of them have failed.

Thanks guys/girls for the feedback. I'm pretty meticulous about buying things, especially something that is "expensive" and what I want to use for a fairly long period of time. I'm confident with going with AOC but if my budget permits, I've heard good things about the Dell IPS monitors.

16:9 monitors are gross. For that size monitor, it's 1920x1200 or bust.
