AOL forward emails as HTML rather than MIME?

My boss, who uses AOL, routinely forwards email to me. The trouble is the forwarded messages show up as MIME attachments on my iPhone and are therefore unreadable. Is there a way to play with the settings on his AOL account so that all forwards (or perhaps all email in general) is sent as HTML rather than MIME?
