Hey Guys. I just noticed at AOL.com that AOL is giving out free domain emails.

EX:

YouPickThis@ANDTHIS.com

Just as you would with a domain.

AOL

It supports IMAP & any email app such as Mail, Outlook, Entourage, etc

Tons of storage too!

:D

It's US-only, and requires a cellphone. I tried several different ways of formatting my phone number but it wouldn't validate :(

OK, a registered a domain (mostly to claim it before anyone else could).

Who technically owns the domain, AOL or me? If I ever want to use this domain for a website am I going to run into a problem?

AOL owns the domain. I think I read they're going to open it up to use with websites later on.
Hmmm. I wonder if there's a way to cancel it (if the user wanted to take the domain elsewhere). ...But it's good to know they might open it up (I just want it to forward to my .mac homepage).

it sure is a great deal - IMAP hosting alone is expensive. If everyone uses IMAP instead of their website how will they generate ad revenue?
