What Mac OS X version do you use, how did you exactly install that AOL Client and what do you mean with "facebook app"? And what "desktop" crashed?

Can you be please more specific on what you did and what software version are involved?

I have downloaded both of them, mounted the .dmg files, ran both installations and found the installed applications inside my Applications folder and could run both without problems.

Can you please specify how you did install them?

Are both applications inside your Applications folder? If so, when you start them, do they crash or just show your Desktop? You haven't been that clear in your original post.

Are you the admin (or a admin) on this Mac?

With "Facebook app" you mean that AIM client I suppose?

Can you answer any of the other questions maybe? Otherwise this will be a guessing game and will take longer to solve the problem.

Btw, just out of sheer ignorance on my side, you could Repair the Permissions via Disk Utility.

I will uninstalled both and re-installed again.

I have a admin my on mac.

I have both AOL Desktop 1.7 and AIM 2.1.299 installed on my MacBook Pro running MacOS X 10.6.4. I have had zero (0) problems or hints of problems on my system. Perhaps your problem relates to how you communicate with the outside world. Make sure that AOL's ports are open on your end.
