I have recently set up my Airport which has a modem to dial in to AOL. I got it setup to connect to AOL and can get AOL to sign on but once I do I can not get the internet to work on any application except for AOL. So Safari does not work, Firefox does not. Can any one help me?

I happen to remember from my tortured experiences using AOL that I had a hard time getting other internet applications to recognize the connection. Unfortunatly that was on windows, but maybe a similar fix is in order. All i did was created a new "temporary" LAN connection using the AOL connection for internet and made my computer think it was connecting to the internet throught the LAN. Yea it was kinda obsurdly roundabout but seemed to work. My suggestion check connection settings. Or better yet quit using AOL.

does aol use proxies? that may be screwing up things. if it is already connected I would try forcing dns and disabling proxies but i can't say it would work for sure, I stay away from aol.
