Apacer au350 mp3 player and Mac (VBR?)

Anybody used this mp3 player with their mac? Should be drag and drop with no probs. My main question, which I still can't find an answer to on the web reviews, is whether or not it plays VBR mp3. I can pick up a 2 gig AU350 for less than 20 bucks, but returns here in Thailand are nearly impossible even if the product is broken, so I'd like to know for sure that it is VBR compatible before purchase.
