I have an APC protector for my eMac and I had some problems (I didn't think it was from the APC) last week. I came home and my computer was dead - no power at all. It's working now until this evening. We've had some electrical storms in the evenings and today was a doosey. Our power was going off and on. APC should have gone over onto the battery of course but instead, it killed the power on the computer and once again a dead computer. I unplugged everything and let it sit for a good half hour and then I plugged it into a wall socket, not the APC unit. And I got power and all is well with it. What is happening? Does it sound like a bad battery? I really don't remember when I bought it.
Before, when all was working properly, if the power went off or we got power surges, the program, power chute would show up in a small window. That is not happening now.

I would say your APC is dead. Call them and get a replacement as they have lifetime warranty on most of their products
