APE Streaming Video Problems

So I have an Airport Extreme with a external hard drive connected to it. I have video on it and would like to be able to watch it on my computer wirelessly. This works to a point but becomes choppy and skips a lot... what can I do to fix this. My computer is a new MBP so it is going through a n connect..

brand new macbook, brand new AE.

I have searched high and low and nothing..
