Is it possible to have old film negatives converted digital for the use in Aperture 2.0? If it's in prior posts, sorry, I'm in a rush before heading out so the search function is not an option, since after I'm done golfing, I'm heading to the Apple Store, and Aperture 2.0 might be a Father's Day gift.

Thanks, looking forward to a quick response.

Are you asking if Aperture can convert film negatives to digital images?

You need hardware (a scanner) to accomplish this. Once the images are converted Aperture can pretty much handle images in any digital format.

SaSaSushi,

Thank you for the response. Yea, I realized my dad will need a scanner or will have to pay someone to digitize his old film negatives.
I did pick up Aperture 2.0 for him after reading your post while in the Apple Store, since he wasn't overly impressed with the editing capabilities in iPhoto (former freelance photographer), so this will get him back into it but on the digital front with his new Nikon dSLR.

Thanks again.

Good deal. Aperture and a nice SLR camera is a fine combination.

I hope your dad enjoys it.
