My aperture 3 library is getting rather large now and I understand this is often dur to excessive previews being generated. I would like to remove these but have a few questions.

1. I shoot in raw and always edit my photos a little. Will this undo any changes on my photos?

2. Any issues or advice in doing this?

Any help would be hugely appreciated! :)

Deleting your previews will not affect any edits that you have made. If you prefer to have previews after deleting them, you can always regenerate them.

Thanks for the help. May I ask, what are the point in previews? When are they used?

1. In "fast" mode for rating/quickly flipping through the library the previews are enabled

2. Sharing with iLife apps/slideshows etc

3. Displaying the image for off-line referenced masters

One thing I did was split my Library in to multiple Libraries divided by year. It can be a pain some times but each Library is smaller and faster to load and work with.
