After my computer came back from apple care and I replaced my TB hard drive in it, it is now asking for my serial number for aperture 3. I had it saved in a password app on my phone but I never backed it up on my computer and have since restored my phone (the woes of a jailbreaker). The program was actually given to me as a gift from a friend who was an apple employee (non-retail) and registered in his name while I was working contract security with him at apple. I left the company over a year ago and I'm having a hard time getting a hold of him now. I thought that I was able to login to my apple account somewhere and find the serial but I can't find it. Besides trying harder to get a hold of my buddy, are there any options to get it. I might just end up purchasing it to have it actually registered in my name for upgrade purposes. It's a great program.

Yeah. Figured. It's worth it me. Especially since all my photos are in the app right now. It's weird because I can still sync my iPhone or iPad to that library.

alright new question. Can I order just the serial number from Apple? I can't even open up Aperture to use the internal upgrade feature. I don't have time to wait for a dvd to arrive in the mail as I'm about to leave for Afghanistan. I only see physical shipping methods on apples site.

Why not just get it from the App Store? It's cheaper plus you get instant gratification. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/aperture/id408981426?mt=12

which is what I ended up doing. My Verizon Mifi didn't have good enough signal out here to download anything that size (plus 3 other guys are on it), so I eventually caved in and gave up my unlimited data plan for a tethering plan on my phone last night so I could download it from the app store. I think it will be worth it. Now I can say I'm not cheating AT&T.
