I am looking into purchasing Aperture but I just want to know if there is ANY difference in the regular (part #MA715Z/A) and the academic (part #MA716Z/A version other than the discounted price?

Also, would this apply to all Apple Apps?

Apple's academic software is not eligible for paid-for upgrades. So the current version is 1.5.x. If Apple release 1.6 or 1.7 which is free you can upgrade but if they release 2.0 you cannot upgrade via an upgrade SKU. You would have to buy a full release, either another academic version if you are still a student or the full-priced retail version.

Apart from that they are the same.
