Aperture and Scaling Watermarks

I figured out how to watermark my pix on export in Aperture. But I just exported a batch, and I noticed on the ones that I've cropped within Aperture, the watermark is huge! I did select Scale Watermark, and to be sure, I've done the export twice more, with and without "scale" selected.

I'm wondering if scaling the watermark won't work on crops within Aperture, rather is it designed for scaling as part of the export process?
