Aperture Hangs there

My Aperture 3.1 has suddenly started not responding - the spinning ball and processing just remains on the screen. I think this could relate to a recent bug fix update as its only happened in the last few days. its very disappointing and I'm seriously thinking of an alternative. Has anyone any ideas on how to resolve this? OSX 10.6.5

I recently obtained a copy and did the upgrades. I was having issues with mine hanging too and big battery drain...it's been working fine since I did a restart.

Me too, it wouldn't load the Aperture window, just hangs.

I did a restart, and deleted the Aperture Plist (google it if you don't know what it is), it came back to life. I was scared for a moment though.

Aperture 3 install

I installed Aperture 3 today and it said it was successful but it never asked me for a registration or a serial number. I can not open it. What am I doing wrong.
