My wife has a lot of pictures... and I mean a LOT! She's just about filled her 1TB internal drive with nothing but pictures. What can I say? Cute kids.

She was a long-time user of iPhoto... but it started to get really bogged down. I bought and installed Aperture for her. It brought in her iPhoto library and we now download all new pics to Aperture. Seemed fine for a while...

Now Aperture is getting bogged down. I read some threads here about sending the Masters to an external drive. That method sounds promising and I have a 1.5TB drive standing by when my concerns are answered.

Here are my questions:

1. Since the iPhoto library is the bulk of the Aperture library, can I move the iPhoto library to an external drive? If so, that would solve most of my problems immediately. If not, can I "remove" the iPhoto library from Aperture, move it and then re-link it?

2. If I move the masters and iPhoto libraries to an external drive... will I still be able to view all of my pictures on ATV2? My wife loves this feature... but it's getting harder and harder to do as her computer fills up.
