Aperture, iPhoto and Photo Stream

Here is my issue. Whenever I try to create a shared photo stream in either iphoto or aperture there is no pop up that shows up. Photo streams do not appear under the "web" category. I can only see my general photo stream under "Recent". I have however created shared photostreams in iOS. What to do? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Did you enable PhotoStream in iPhoto > Preferences?

Yes. I am running iphoto 9.4.2 and Aperture 3.4.3 Aperture is enabled in both but I don't get the option to enable shared photo streams...

What version of OS X are you running ? I think shared photo streams are Mountain Lion only.
