Aperture isn't auto-rotating NEF photos on my D700?

Any of you guys have this problem when importing NEF files? Pictures that are auto-rotated into portrait mode during playback on the D700 is not auto-rotated when importing into Aperture? However it will auto rotate jpegs pictures from the d700 just fine. Is there any way to fix this as it does get annoying when I have to press the bracket key for every single picture.

Thanks for any input!
