Hey guys!

After getting my new MBP (upgraded from previous gen); I decided to keep my Aperture Library on an external drive, as I've read this increases the speed and space of my MBP as well as Aperture's performance.

What I want to do is to:

1) Keep Aperture Library on an external drive
2) Be able to view my files on Aperture when the external drive is disconnected (my understanding is that I will not be able to export, adjust, edit pictures but can simply view - which I am okay with).

So far, I've located the Aperture Library on the external drive, clicked on it, which opened up Aperture and loaded the photos in. However, when I detach the external drive, I cannot see any libraries at all. What do I need to do to create a reference/link, so that I can achieve criteria #2 from above?

THANKS in advance :)
