Hi all,

Few questions concerning my new app store purchase of aperture.

1. I downloaded aperture from the app store tonight and it found my iPhoto library so I let it import. ? Would it be wise of me to delete iPhoto?

2. On the left hand pane of Aperture it still shows my iPhoto library, why? I'm using aperture, I only want to see aperture projects, photo's, etc...

3. Awhile back I downloaded the trial version of Aperture, so it still shows at the top of the left pane "Aperture 3 trial Library", how do i get rid of it?

4. I need a good Kindle/Ibook book to read up on Aperture, any suggestions?

Thanks all,

I use iPhoto for quick fixes and to house my iPhone folder.

Before buying a book, I would look into tips on youtube for Aperture.

Thanks all,

1. If you have the space, keep it.
2. Sounds like it's because you imported your iphoto libraries as described in your question "1"
3. Not sure.
4. You don't need a "kindle book". You need to google "Aperture 3 tutorials" or just go to http://www.apertureexpert.com/. It has helped me a ton.

agreed with above.. you can also read my articles.. I have written a lot about organizgin Aperture and painting adjustments in.
as to how to remove the "trial" in the name.. just rename the library.. that should do it.
Close Aperture, find the library on your hard rive. rename it to something like Aperture Library and start Aperture while holding the option key (ALT), then choose that new library.. that's it.

Enjoy,

All/ Thank you

I will try the suggestions when I get home from work.

I'm sure I will have more questions going forward

Thanks again
