Aperture very slow with "zoom to actual size" after editing

Been trying Aperture this evening. Looks pretty decent but one thing bothers me a lot. When I view pictures at full size (zoom to actual size - Z button), panning the picture is extremely slow on my UMBP, even when using the faster video card. This is mainly visible when a picture (coming from Canon 40D) is edited using the shadows/highlight tool.

Any way to speed it up? When viewing un-edited pictures fullsize, it's blazingly fast.
