APFS or MacOS Journaled

I just added a SSD to my mini. Broke the IR but that is not the question.
Can anyone tell me which settings to use?
I intend to put a fresh mojave on it and make it boot drive.

I would just format it Mac OS Extended (journaled) with GUID partition map. The fresh install of Mojave will automatically convert it to APFS format.
