APM and Momemtus XT

Hi has anyone ever checked to see if they have a hybrid drive if you can enable or disable the Adavance Power Mangement? I did a test on it because when I had the harddrive in a Windows machine I had disabled the APM, I had the choice with some software if I wanted to renable or disable it. Now on my MacBook Pro I could use the same software right? But when I put the notebook to sleep and wake it up the APM becomes disabled or when I turn it off or back on. I was wondering why cant I be able to turn it on or keep it off when I want to?

There might be a way to disable APM via Firmware.

I remember I did it on a Hitachi drive, but I had to use a Windows machine and boot from Dos. It kept clicking because it wanted to go to sleep.
