App / best way to access tv shows on drive shared via AEBS

My goal is to stream TV shows to my Apple TV. The external drive attached to the AEBS is running 24/7, so it may be a good option. Does anyone know of a good app (for iPhone or iPad) to access said drive and stream shows to the Apple TV?

Appreciate any input!
