App data backup?

How is this possible now that iTunes removed the capability? Is there any way to backup my app data and apps to somewhere else or through apples apps on a Mac?

I'm trading in my iphone in a few days and I need to get everything off it so I can back it up to the new phone.

iCloud? I'm guessing that's the only option now but I'm not sure. Would like to know this too because I always liked the added security of having a backup on my computer as well as on iCloud.

I have at least 80 gigs worth of data on top of data that may be on a 256gb iphone for the X. I don't have money to backup all that nor do I want to pay for iCloud because I can't afford the 9.99 monthly premium on top of an iPhone X

I don't understand. Has the nature of a full encrypted iTunes backup changed?

With 12.7 itunes no longer backs up apps.

uninstall itunes 12.7 and install 12.6. You can find instructions if apple support or online. Then back up phone. Don't update itunes again.
