I understand that some people may not like this idea but I need some help. I do not have a strong coding background and I wanted to make a app for my Boy Scout Troop. I wanted to be able to post updates and then they get them in the notifications, then I wanted to link the facebook page, website link/page, calendar, etc. It can be simple but I want to be able to do something like this. Any examples to go off of or any tips? Thanks!

I would really check into building a web based app using HTML5. Sounds to me like this would solve your needs.

It has to be a web based app. You cannot create an app for "limited audiences" and this might end up being one in Apple's eyes.
