I am considering giving my 3GS to my 11 year old kid, and I am wondering if there's an app that I can put on it that will help me locate him, if necessary. Thanks for any help in advance.

Are these apps that I can lock the kid out of and view on my iPhone or MacBook Pro? I am trying to understand how to parental lock the phone for content, etc., but am coming up short in my search for instruction online.

I don't believe you can lock them, but you could implement a punishment for turning it off?

you can hide em inside folders. and if they turn em off, take away their iphone.

If there is no PIN lock on the phone, and your son doesn't know the Apple ID password associated with the account you use in Find My Friends, then he can't open that app.
