Many digital cameras now come with wifi. As far as I can tell, they all require a proprietary app to use their remote control function (most, if not all, also send photos to your Mac or iPad; that's not what I'm concerned about).

Is anyone aware of an app that allows remote control of wifi cameras that isn't made by the manufacturer? I ask because although Panasonic's is useful, it's painful in its slowness and the interface is horrible. I'd like to use something else. But once I'm on the camera's wifi it seems that the Panasonic image app is the only one that can control the camera.
