App for Specific Macros

Hi,
I need an app that allows me to create a macro that will delete every second line of my pages document.
The document contains a good few thousand lines so looking for something I can run through the whole document that will delete every second line of text.

Any ideas. Preferably ones that are simple to use and free.

What sort of document? You can easily achieve this via a shell script as long as you are dealing with not formatted text.

An AppleScript should work to delete alternate paragraphs from a Pages document, regardless of how it's formatted. Some care will be required as figures and double-returns likely count as paragraphs too.

The document is a pages document.
I just need every second line to be deleted.
The lines have no spacing and each consists of both numbers and letters.
(It an encrypted code).
