So I've got tons of videos I want to stream over to my iPad though they aren't loaded into iTunes and don't plan on using the homeshare option. They are on a hard drive hooked up to my PC.

Is there some type of app or other way to stream these videos to my iPad not using iTunes? (most are mpg and avi)

+1 for Plex

I use it all the time on my MBP hooked up to the HDTV, and I use it on my iPhone (and soon my iPad 2 on order). I even set up a DNS so that if my macbook was at home, I could remote stream movies and shows to my iPhone wherever I am. Would work better if I had a desktop permanently at home but it works for now.

Check out the Plex media server. Amazing program for media sharing.

Thx guys reading reviews sounds great, going to pull the trigger right now!
