App for viewing info like weather, twitter, ect..

I recently hooked my old mac mini up to my TV in my bedroom and I was wondering if anyone knew of an app that I could view weather, Social media feeds, RSS feeds, Ect...? I attached a photo of comcasts new TV UI to help explain what I was looking for

Most people do this in their web browser these days.

I suggest using My Yahoo! since Google is sunsetting their iGoogle portal.

Might take a look at Plex or other similar software; might look better and function more easily on the TV.

I dont like to use My Yahoo because of how ugly it looks and I would like to leave this running 24/7 without having to refresh the page.

couldn't you just have like the twitter app, a weather app, a calendar all open all the time?
